Japan makes robots that reproduce human muscles and bones

On December 28th, Professor Yasuyuki Inaba of the University of Tokyo in Japan developed a robot that reproduces the skeletal muscle structure of the Japanese. The muscle and bone length of each part of the robot is almost the same as the Japanese average.

It is reported that in addition to the face and hands, this robot has 114 kinds of joint activities, which can simulate people's posture and movement. Since the robot can perform motion analysis and motion evaluation, it can be used for research in sports and rehabilitation training.

According to reports, the robot is called "Kuang Wu Lang", which is 167 cm tall and weighs 56 kg. It refers to the average physical data of Japanese men. The bones are made of aluminum and carbon fiber, and the muscles are made of elastic strings of chemical fiber materials. The motor is wound around the elastic string to simulate muscle activity, and the sensor mounted on the robot can also measure the force applied to the elastic string.

Compared with the Japanese body data, the muscle and bone length of each part of the robot is only about 1%, and the weight is about 16% heavier than humans. The robot can simulate about 39% of the muscle type in the human body. In addition to the tiny parts of the muscles that make the little fingers move, most of the muscles and bones of the human body are reproduced.

This robot can be used to resolve motion because it measures the force applied to the muscles of each part. However, existing analytical methods such as measuring myoelectric potential are difficult to investigate in detail. (中新网)
