The key three points of raising pigs in summer

In summer, the feed intake of pigs decreased and their resistance decreased. Especially pregnant sows, if not properly managed, are likely to cause piglet abnormalities and even miscarriages. How to effectively feed and manage pigs to enhance their resistance to disease and increase their production capacity has become the key to the high profitability of pig farmers in summer. Therefore, there are three things to keep in mind when raising pigs in summer:

First, regulate the temperature inside the home

The pig house should be kept well ventilated to reduce the temperature in the house. Suitable inlet and outlet can be set in the pig house. If the area of the pig house is large, it is better to install a fan for ventilation and cooling. For unqualified farms, it is recommended to build a shallow pool in the pig pen or directly splash water on the ground so that the pigs can lie in the water to cool down; or use a sprayer to spray the water mist on the pigs and absorb the water through the vapor evaporation. Heat, so as to achieve the purpose of cooling. General piggery temperature should be controlled at about 25°C. It is best not to exceed 30°C.

Second, keep a clean environment

In order to prevent the occurrence of porcine infectious diseases, pig farms must pay attention to the cleanliness and disinfection work of pig houses. It is necessary to regularly clean sinks and troughs, remove excrement in time, and disinfect pig houses and surrounding sites from time to time. In the summer, there are more mosquitoes. If the pig suffers from mosquito bites for a long time, it will not only affect the production but also cause diseases. Therefore, in order to exterminate insects in time, the appropriate amount of water can be sprayed with trichlorfon, but the concentration should not be too high, otherwise it will affect pigs.

Third, improve feed nutrition

At high temperatures, feed nutrition levels should be appropriately increased, and attention should be paid to adjusting feeding methods. It is best to ensure that pigs are full and eat well when they cool sooner or later. A small amount of baking soda can be added to the diet of finishing pigs, which can effectively promote appetite and prevent poisoning. It is also possible to add appropriate amount of cooking oil to increase energy in pig feed. In a hot environment, a certain amount of vitamin C can be added to feed to resist heat stress. This can not only increase the pig's resistance to infectious diseases and poisoning diseases, but also promote the healing of wounds and the absorption of iron in the intestinal tract.
