The consumables of reverse osmosis pure water equipment mainly include quartz sand, activated carbon, softening resin (resistance agent), PP filter core and reverse osmosis membrane.

1, quartz sand

Replacement cycle: The normal service life is about 8-24 months. Quartz sand is made of high-quality refined quartz sand, the color is pure white, and the quartz sand filter material is strictly processed according to the national standard for water treatment filter (CJ/43-2005). A water treatment filter material which is processed by pulverization, screening, water washing, etc.; it has pure white color, small impurity content, multi-angle, high density, high mechanical strength, strong interception ability and good acid resistance. It is characterized by anti-erosion, stable chemical properties, stable effluent quality, no clogging and no agglomeration during filtration and rinsing. It is an ideal material for purified water treatment. Quartz sand filter material acts as a filter, just as water penetrates into the ground through sand and gravel, blocking the suspended matter in the water, mainly for those fine suspensions. The application of quartz sand as a filter material: quartz sand is combined with a filter container to intercept particulate impurities such as suspended solids in water, thereby filtering. It is stable in acidic water with neutral and value range, but it is slightly soluble in alkaline water. The increase of SiO2 in chemical water treatment does not exceed 2mg/L.

2, activated carbon

Replacement cycle: The normal service life is about 8-24 months. The main function is to remove macromolecular organic matter, iron oxide and residual chlorine. Organic matter, residual chlorine, and iron oxides are easily poisoned by ion exchange resins, while residual chlorine and cationic surfactants not only poison the resin, but also damage the membrane structure and render the reverse osmosis membrane ineffective.

3, softening resin

Replacement cycle: normal service life is about 8-24 months, softening resin, cation exchange resin is a polymer with corresponding functional groups. In general, conventional sodium ion exchange resins carry a large amount of sodium ions. When the content of calcium and magnesium ions in water is high, the ion exchange resin can release sodium ions, and the functional groups are combined with calcium and magnesium ions, so that the content of calcium and magnesium ions in the water is lowered, the hardness of water is lowered, and the hard water becomes soft water. The commonly used brands are Shanghai Yiqiu, British Blair, American Dow, American Rohm and Haas and so on.

4, precision filter core (5U PP cotton filter)

Replacement cycle: The normal service life is about 10-30 days. The precision filter is used to remove the suspended solids, non-straight particles and colloids in the influent water, so that the RO system can be safer and more reliable after the RO system. The filter element is a 5um meltblown filter element, the purpose is to prevent the upper filter unit from being removed, and impurities missing more than 5um are removed. Preventing the reverse osmosis device from damaging the surface of the membrane, thereby damaging the desalination performance of the membrane.

5, reverse osmosis RO membrane

Replacement cycle: normal service life is about 3-5 years

The reverse osmosis RO membrane is generally made of a polymer material. For example, a cellulose acetate film, an aromatic polyhydrazide film, or an aromatic polyamide film. The diameter of the surface micropores is generally between 0.5 and 10 nm, and the size of the permeability is related to the chemical structure of the film itself. Some polymer materials have good repellency to salt, and water transmission rate is not good. Some polymer materials have more hydrophilic groups, so the water permeation rate is relatively fast. Therefore, a satisfactory reverse osmosis membrane should have a suitable amount of permeation or salt rejection. The membrane pore size of the reverse osmosis membrane is very small, so that dissolved salts, colloids, microorganisms, organic matter, and the like in the water can be effectively removed. The system has the advantages of good water quality, low energy consumption, no pollution, simple process and easy operation.
