Chicken spray immunology knowledge

Spray immunization is mainly used when immunizing large groups of chickens. It is not applicable to chicks within 30 days of age and chickens with chronic respiratory diseases to induce chicken respiratory diseases. When the vaccine is immunized, the vaccine is diluted to a prescribed amount, and the vaccine liquid is sprayed into a mist by a nebulizer or an air compressor to be inhaled by the respiratory tract of the chicken to achieve the effect of immunity.

Chicken spray immunization is generally performed in the evening, in order to reduce the degree of stress response in the flock and avoid direct sunlight on the vaccine. During immunization, close the doors and windows of the house and ventilating equipment to reduce the air flow in the house and circle the flock in dark places. Nebulizers or nebulizers should be cleansed and free of disinfectant and other drug residues. It is best to use a special device for vaccination.

Vaccine preparation and dosage: Use clean water that does not contain chlorine and iron to dissolve the vaccine. Open the cap in water and pour the vaccine. The commonly used water is deionized water and distilled water. It is not allowed to use diluents such as physiological saline to prevent the sprayed mist particles from drying rapidly and the salt concentration will increase to affect the effectiveness of the vaccine. When using this vaccination method, the amount of vaccine used is usually 2 times that of other vaccination methods. The amount of fluid to be administered should be determined according to the specific object of immunization. The volume of spraying per 1000 animals is 250 to 500 ml. The spray volume per 1,000 chickens is 250 milliliters.

Spraying method: The chickens are rushed to one side of the wall and sprayed on the top of the chicken at a distance of 30 to 50 centimeters. While spraying, they should spray at least 2 or 3 times. Do not open doors and windows until 20 minutes after spraying, because the general spray fog particles will take about 20 minutes to land on the ground.

Precautions: The size of the atomized particles should be moderate. A quantitative water spray can be used prior to spraying to obtain the best spray rate, spray flow rate, and atomized particle size. Generally, chicks within 6 weeks of age are immunized with aerosols, and the aerosol particles are 50 μm. When aerosols are immunized against 12-week-old chicks, it is preferable to use 10-30 μm aerosol particles.
