Classification of beef cattle feed

According to China's feed classification method, the feedstuffs commonly used for beef cattle are classified into raw green, silage, root tubers and fruits, hay, agricultural and sideline products, cereals, bran, cakes, and bad residue. Class, mineral feed, vitamin feed, feed additives, etc.

A green and juicy feed

It refers to the green plant feed with high natural moisture content (greater than or equal to 45%). Commonly used include: grasses, leafy vegetables, non-amyloid tubers, aquatic plants and leaves. Its business site: high water content, low crude fiber content, high nitrogen-free extracts, high protein content, many types of mineral elements, rich in vitamins, containing a large number of unknown growth factors, good palatability.

Second, silage

It refers to a kind of feed that is fermented by microorganisms when fresh green fodder is cut into sealed containers. At present, the most widely used beef cattle is whole plant corn and corn stalk silage. Its nutritional characteristics: retains most of the nutritional value of raw materials, good palatability, high digestibility, can adjust the seasonal imbalance of green feed supply.

Three, root tuber feed

It refers to the root tubers of starch, including sweet potato, potato and cassava. Nutritional characteristics: Dry matter contains high nitrogen-free extracts, low protein content and mostly non-protein nitrogen, fresh samples containing 65%-80% moisture, and less dry matter. When used, shredding and disease control are required.

Fourth, hay feed

Refers to some artificially cultivated or wild pasturage dehydrated air-dried objects, the moisture content is below 15%. Beef cattle are commonly used mainly in the grass, ryegrass, Elymus, old Miscanthus, alfalfa hay, nutrient media and raw material types, harvesting stages, adjustment methods. The crude fiber content is generally high (20% - 45%), and the crude protein content varies greatly, and the mineral content is abundant. Before the hay is fed, it can undergo certain processing, serious deterioration, moldy, unqualified hay with too much impurities in the sediment should not be fed.

V. Agricultural and sideline products

Commonly used beef cattle include the following shells, oysters, stalks, stalks, vines, etc. Nutritional characteristics: high crude fiber content, low digestible nutrient content, coarse texture, poor palatability, generally suitable for processing after modulation.

Six, grain real feed

Refers to the seeds of Joe's undergraduate crops, including corn, wheat, rice, barley, and sorghum. Nutritional characteristics: Nitrogen-free extract accounts for 70%-80% of dry matter, mainly starch; protein content is low, generally 8%-12%, amino acid composition is poor; fat content is generally 2%-4%; mineral composition is not Balanced, phosphorus less calcium. With high energy and good palatability, it is the most important ingredient in beef cattle.
