Roselle cultivation techniques

Roselle belongs to the Malvaceae family and is a 1-year-old herbaceous plant. Purple stems, green leaves, yellow flowers, red fruits, bright colors. Seeds can be oiled, have high medicinal value and can also be eaten; stems can be used as feed and fuel, which can be described as body treasure.

1. Soil requirements:

Roselle is a plant that is afraid of earthworms and is not afraid of drought. It should be planted in sandy loam with sunny soil, deep soil, and well-drained water. Apply 1000-1500 kg of farmyard fertilizer per acre.

2. Planting density:

According to the fertility of the soil, the row spacing is 0.6-0.8 cm and it is appropriate to sow 1300-1500 ponds per acre.

3. Seeding time: 12 hours sowing before sowing, sowing in late April to early May is more appropriate, on-demand seedlings of 3 to 4 capsules; using transplanting seedlings for transplanting seedlings, transplanting at a seedling height of 12 to 15 cm.

4. Field Management:

(1) Timely pest control: 5 to 7 days after sowing, seedlings were sprayed with 2.5% beta-cyhalothrin (50 ml/mu) to control pests. Spraying pesticides must be carried out before flowering. Spraying of pesticides is strictly forbidden during flowering to avoid the presence of drug poisons in flower buds and affect the product volume.

(2) Appropriate time seedlings, Dingmiao seedlings, and tipping: When the seedlings grow to 10-15 cm in size, the seedlings will be planted with weak seedlings and diseased seedlings. Only one robust seedling will be left in each pond, and the rest will be allocated to fill the deficiency pond. Too late, otherwise affecting the growth of the seedlings, seedling height 80 cm will have to hit the tip, prompting the branches to spend more fertilizer.

(3) Fertilization and Irrigation: Roselle does not need large amounts of water and fertilizers, but land with poor soil fertility needs proper chase. Per acre pouring compound fertilizer 20 kg, urea 8 kg, zinc fertilizer 5 kg for raising; 30 kg of compound fertilizer per acre before blooming, 20 kg of potassium sulfate, to meet the needs of flowering.

(4) Cultivated weeding and rowing: Plant height 30 cm, combined with topdressing soil, timely cultivating 2 or 3 times. In summer, due to rain and weeds, artificial weeds should be removed to avoid competing with roselle. In the rainy season, we must pay attention to digging trenches to prevent the death and root rot.

5. Harvest cool

Roselle is mainly harvested. In the middle or late October, when the grains in the flower bag become hard or brown, the fruit branches are cut off, and the flower buds and the fruit are removed. After the shrinkage, the flower buds are removed. In the event of dislocation, the round nut can be pushed out with a thin metal tube. The bud must remain intact and cannot be peeled off. Roselle is acidic, it is easy to mold, it is necessary to cool in time.
