A recent international study showed that regular X-ray breast examination did not reduce breast cancer mortality. Australian experts said on the 13th that women under the age of 40 can use X-rays to check their breasts.
Because of fear of breast cancer, breast cancer diagnostic tests are beginning to be prevalent in all ages. Canadian researchers analyzed breast cancer women aged 40 to 59 years in 25 years and found no difference in breast cancer mortality between women receiving X-rays and untested women.
Oliver of the Australian Cancer Council said that women between the ages of 50 and 74 are most likely to benefit from X-rays, and women in this age group are advised to undergo two tests per year. Australian studies have shown that biennial screening for women between the ages of 50 and 69 can reduce mortality by a third.
Bharat, a professor of epidemiology at the University of Sydney, suggested that women aged 50 to 59 in Australia insist on examinations, while women aged 40 to 49 because of breast tissue density, the X-ray examination effect is not obvious, abnormal conditions are difficult to find. Bharat does not recommend X-rays for women under the age of 40. But all women can self-examine their breasts regularly to observe their health.
