Materials and Methods

2. In this study, HE staining results of hippocampus showed that Wenyang Jieyu Decoction concentrate can protect hippocampal tissue while lowering HPA axis hormone levels. Therefore, the improvement of depressive symptoms by Wenyang Jieyu Decoction may be related to the protection of hippocampal tissue negative feedback regulation of HPA axis and down-regulation of HPA axis hormone levels. The mechanism remains to be further studied.
