Morphological characteristics

Vitex deciduous shrub, about 3m high. Branchlets young, densely finely velvet; old branches rounded, glabrous. Leaves opposite, obovate, 2 ~ 5cm long, 1 ~ 3cm wide, apex rounded, dense gray hair below. Panicle terminal; campanula-shaped, 5-toothed, outer densely white pubescent; corolla lavender, apex 5-lobed, 2-lipped; stamens 4; ovary 4-loculed, densely glandular, stigma 2-lobed, florescence 7 Month, fruit period September. Drupe spherulites, black after ripening, 4 to 6 mm in diameter. Some surfaces are grayish black or dark brown, and are grayish-white frost-like hairs. There are 4 shallow longitudinal grooves, a slight dimple at the top, and grey and white pods and short peduncles at the base.
