Pig price rebounded in early July

Affected by factors such as the decrease in the number of pigs available for slaughter pigs and the reluctance of farmers to reluctant sellers, the short-term tight supply of live pigs and the impact of high-temperature and rainy weather on the transportation of pigs in local areas have made the prices of pigs slightly smaller in two consecutive days in early July. After falling, it rose again.

First, the current market operation: hog prices rebounded. In July, the average price of fattening pigs for 300 large-scale breeding companies nationwide was 13.52 yuan per kilogram, up by 1.1% month-on-month and 8.0% year-on-year. From a regional perspective, the price of pigs in 21 of the 31 monitored areas increased month-on-month, 5 areas remained flat, and 5 areas fell. Among them, the prices of pigs in Guangxi, Hubei, and Shaanxi provinces rose the most, rising by 6.0%, 3.2%, and 3.2% respectively. The decrease in the price of piglets has been reduced.

In the first half of July, the market price of piglets for 300 large-scale domestic aquaculture enterprises was 24.54 yuan per kilogram, which was a drop of 0.3% from the previous month, a decrease of 0.1 percentage points from the previous period and a year-on-year decrease of 10.3%. Among the 28 monitored areas, the market price of piglets fell in seven areas, with 14 areas remaining flat and 7 areas rising. Among them, Guizhou, Gansu and Chongqing had the largest drop in market prices for piglets, which fell by 9.4%, 1.9% and 1.7% respectively. Feed prices rose slightly. In the first half of July, the purchase price of corn for 300 large-scale breeding companies nationwide was 2.52 yuan per kilogram, up 0.8% month-on-month and up 1.6% year-on-year; soybean meal price was 4.11 yuan per kilogram, down by 0.7% month-on-month and 1.4% year-on-year; bran price It was 1.96 yuan per kilogram, unchanged from the previous quarter and down 2.5% year-on-year. The above three kinds of raw materials were proportioned according to the ratio of 7:2:1. The average price was 2.78 yuan per kilogram, 0.4% higher than the previous month and 0.4% higher than the same period of last year. The pig food price stopped falling. In the first half of July, the average pig-to-food ratio of the 300 large-scale aquaculture companies nationwide was 5.37:1, up by 0.02 points month-on-month, and it was in the mid-level loss zone for the fifth consecutive week. Among the 31 monitored areas, the pig-to-food ratio in the two regions was higher than the break-even point, seven regions were in a slightly falling region, eighteen regions were in a moderately falling region, and four regions were in a severely falling region.

Second, the price of pigs in the latter period predicted that the price hike of pigs will slow down. July officially entered the hot weather, pork consumption is seasonally weak, and the current increase in pig fattening pigs, pig price is difficult to achieve a substantial rebound, is expected that the latter pig price increases may slow down, or even a slight fall. According to monitoring, in July of the first half of the year, the number of fattening pigs in 300 large-scale aquaculture companies increased by 0.4% from the previous month and rose by 4.3% year-on-year. Among them, the large pig stocks were flat, up 3.5% year-on-year; the medium-sized pig stocks increased by 0.8% and 5.6% year-on-year.
